127 Hammond St Bangor ME 04401

From January 12th to May 12th, I bore witness to the demolition of 127 Hammond St known to locals as “the old YMCA”. Through observation and conversation I endeavored to understand systems of pathological power, the redistribution of material resources, and public experiences of change. Though the research work was geared towards a culminating thesis, the encounters, documentation, transcripts and material arrangements represent a long-standing obsession with cycles of change and systems of power as perceived through cultural material conditions. Grateful thanks to Jamie, John, Todd, Rocky and Elvis of Alloy Group for their kindness and generosity in time, material, and accommodation of this research.
